Proprietary Synthesis

Until recently, the high cost of producing quantum dots made their use in solar cells prohibitive. Quantum Materials Corp, parent company of Solterra Renewable Technologies has changed this paradigm with a new proprietary quantum dot production technology that dramatically reduces the cost of quantum dot production. This new quantum dot production technique, developed by Dr. Michael S. Wong and colleagues of Rice University, has been acquired under an exclusive, worldwide license. Solterra’s quantum dots can be prepared with a protective shell, which increases their stability and yields longer lasting quantum dots performance.
